McShin Foundation was founded in Richmond, Virginia by husband and wife duo John Shinholser and Carol McDaid. Together, they saw a need for a drug and alcohol recovery center in the area and decided to fill it. John left his lucrative painting business behind to start the foundation, and Carol is a veteran lobbyist for mental health and drug policy at the federal level. The foundation has grown from two offices in the basement of a church into an organization that includes a lot of square foot recovery centers and many recovery residence beds in Richmond and surrounding areas. We do addiction treatment in Richmond, VA, and are available for everyone, so whenever you need us, you are more than welcome to come and see what we do and what we provide here. Our services are available to everyone in the Richmond community regardless of income, insurance, or employment status. We provide compassionate care for individuals who have an addiction to drugs or alcohol, or who have a mental illness. We also offer outpatient counseling services for children and adolescents who need help coping with various life issues.
